Detox Pineapple Matcha Smoothie

I have always been a fan of green smoothies for breakfast since it’s the best food to start your day with and get lots of vitamins for the day ahead. Even if you don’t have too much time to cook in the morning, you can blend them in 5 min and enjoy on the way to the office.

Since I started drinking matcha green tea, I tried to add it to my smoothies and experiment with various ingredients. It adds some subtle green tea flavor without being overpowering.

Matcha contains caffeine, but compared to coffee, we process it differently, without any jitteriness, energy crashes or headaches. By adding green tea powder to smoothies, we get a boost of energy that remains stable all day long. It also promotes that state of calm alertness, when we are productive and focused without anxiety.

There are many benefits of green tea for weight loss and overall health. Matcha contains lots of antioxidants to help keep you skin looking gorgeous: it will add more goodness to your already healthy green morning drink. Rich in chlorophyll, matcha also helps you detox and lose weight faster by removing heavy metals and toxins from your body without any stress.

My favorite matcha smoothie is the one with pineapple and banana. This homemade detox drink will help you boost your metabolism, energy, and mood, and improve your brain performance. It’s also a great breakfast smoothie if you are trying to lose weight or stick to a strict vegan diet.

Detox Pineapple Matcha Smoothie

Prep Time: 5 min

Total Time: 5 min

Servings: 1 smoothie

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup of almond milk

1 cup of pineapple chunks

1 cup of spinach

1 banana

1 teaspoon of organic matcha green tea (I’m using this matcha powder)

½ cup of Ice cubes

Vanilla extract - optional

TOOLS:

Blender

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Add the ice cubes into the blender, then put pineapple, bananas, spinach, a teaspoon of matcha green tea, and almond milk. For this smoothie, I don’t recommend adding any sweeteners if you are trying to lose weight or detox faster. Plus the fruit keep it sweet enough.
  2. Blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy.
